This post will be based in Mr Grieve’s practice in Dublin at the renowned Blackrock Clinic (and outlying clinics) and focusses on hand and wrist surgery with an emphasis on wrist arthroscopy and minimally invasive hand and wrist surgery, including endoscopic nerve releases.

This position is not a training position per se but will offer exposure to hand and wrist surgery and in particular complex wrist surgery and arthroscopy. The fellow will be expected to provide practice improvements and outcomes. Attendance at clinic is mandatory in a supernumery capacity. A primary function of the fellow will be as first assistant in the operating room and thereby gain valuable exposure to hand and wrist surgery including wrist and small joint arthroscopy. Opportunities exist for teaching.

A stipend will be offered for the position depending on the candidate’s level of experience and performance. Other allowances are payable e.g. paid attendance at the Irish Hand Surgery Society’s or course/conferences as arranged.

This position requires a good command of the English language and registration with the IMC (and/or GMC) and is suitable for an ambitious, capable young surgeon who wishes to publish and learn more about hand and wrist surgery.
